Infrared Species Identification Project
Researchers from Mamirauá Institute are developing a method to identify species in the field using Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR). The project is focusing on reptiles and amphibians, and each species has a different infrared signature, so the challenge is to create a data base for the immense Amazonian biodiversity.
